The Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup truck that has been an integral part of Nissan’s vehicle line-up since its original debut on the mainstream auto market more than 15 years ago in 2004. It is currently in its second generation, which began in 2016.

However, Nissan’s Titan was the subject of a refresh for the 2020 model year. This means that the Nissan Titan received several updates, upgrades, and brand-new features that were not previously a part of its design prior to the release of its 2020 model.

Keep reading to learn more about the stand-out upgraded features of this year’s Nissan Titan truck as well as what’s new for the Titan for the 2020 model year.

What’s New for the 2020 Nissan Titan Truck?

Updated Exterior Styling

For 2020, the Nissan Titan received updated exterior styling. Its refreshed exterior styling adds to the 2020 Titan’s own one-of-a-kind character rather than copy-catting the exterior features of other popular full-size pick-ups on the market.

The front and back of the Titan’s exterior both received updated exterior styling for the 2020 model year. In front, the 2020 Titan sports a refreshed face and in back it features a new tailgate trim piece among other minor updates.

Quieter Cabin

One of the main complaints about the Nissan Titan as it appeared on the market in previous model years was the lack of any features to reduce noise and vibrations in the cabin of this truck. For 2020, the Titan fortunately comes with a long-awaited, much quieter cabin that significantly reduces noise and vibrations for both drivers and passengers alike.

In addition to a quieter cabin, the interior of the 2020 Titan got the addition of laminated windows for 2020. These laminated windows are safer for drivers and passengers alike. In the event of a crash or in the case that these windows shatter for any other reason,

the inner layer of the laminated windows prevents the windows from breaking into large, sharp shards. Instead, the lamination bonds the glass into safer, smaller, rounded pieces that stay bonded even if the window itself breaks.

Upgraded Engine

The Nissan Titan also got an upgraded engine for the 2020 model year. This updated engine is a 5.6-L V8 engine that delivers 400 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft. Of torque.

These upgraded engine specs place the Titan at the top of its vehicle class among other full-size pickup trucks with regards to engine power.

New Automatic Transmission

Prior models of the Nissan Titan came equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This automatic transmission was already impressive, but the 2020 Nissan Titan is equipped with a new and improved 9-speed automatic transmission that gives the Titan additional options for optimal operation.

This new automatic transmission improves the efficiency, speed, acceleration, and overall ride of the 2020 Nissan Titan. It also reduces engine racing and speeds up slow upshifting, both of which were common issues drivers reported when driving prior Titan models. The two additional gears in the 2020 Nissan Titan give drivers more precise control over steering, braking, and generally operating the Titan on the road to ensure a smoother ride for both drivers and passengers alike.

Updated Tech Features

Technology is constantly advancing, which means that vehicles need to update their tech features regularly in order to remain relevant in the ever-evolving mainstream auto industry.

The 2020 Nissan Titan is equipped with a number of updated tech features that bring it up to current industry standards for modern tech in new vehicles. These updated tech features include a 9.0-inch touchscreen display in the center console, an upgraded surround-view camera system, and an upgraded infotainment system that is compatible with the Titan’s brand-new Fender audio system. The 2020 Titan is also equipped with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 system, which offers a host of active safety features and driver aids.
