2019 Nissan Murano: Best “2-Row Midsize SUV”
With fuel prices being so low, SUVs have taken the market by storm once again. Not one to be left out, Nissan has made a strong showing with a range of SUVs. Only one, however, placed on this year’s list of “Best” 2-row midsize SUVs: the 2019 Nissan Murano. Here’s the details on why Edmunds loved Nissan’s star SUV so much.

Murano Makes Moves
Nissan was proud to see the 2019 Murano take such a prestigious place in this year’s SUV list. Edmunds had much to save about the sporty SUV, with almost all of it good.
The most stand-out feature of the Murano, according to Edmunds, is that this midsize SUV stands out at all. Modern SUVs feel like they’re all cut from the same cloth, with exterior design that lacks creativity and uniqueness. Not so with Nissan’s Murano. Edmunds felt that Murano’s exterior was “eye-catching” enough to garner major points in its favor.
The surprising sex appeal of the 2019 Murano extends inside as well. The Murano’s modern, premium interior design is a step above the all-too-utilitarian, Spartan design of similar SUVs.
The “remarkably comfortable” front seats of the Murano make it an even bigger winner in Edmunds’ book. Nissan’s signature seating technology, dubbed Zero Gravity, makes a prominent appearance in the Murano. The seats use 14 different pressure points inspired by NASA’s own research. The Zero Gravity technology makes sitting in a Murano as painless and pleasant as it is to drive.
Driving experience was another big winner for the 2019 Nissan Murano. Smaller size, responsive controls and powerful performance combine to make the Murano feel like less like an SUV and more like a sports car. However, this does come at a cost. The Murano was dinged by Edmunds for limited cargo capacity and towing ability compared to other SUVs of the class.
That doesn’t mean the back seat is cramped, thankfully. Some of that reduced cargo space went towards providing plenty of room for back seat passengers. Edmunds said that the Murano is roomy enough for the biggest adults and bulkiest child seats.
